OUR VISION
Our Vision
The heart and purpose of New Life Church is to introduce and connect people to the living God. We believe that Jesus is God. Because of this everything we do is all about Jesus!
Our relationship with God is through Jesus, our growth as disciples is by obeying Jesus, and our purpose in life is to imitate Jesus by loving God and loving others just as He did!
Jesus said,
'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and
with all your mind… and love others as yourself' (Matt 22:37-39)
Our vision statement is:

AND TO REACH OUT WITH GOD'S LOVE TO OTHERS'
Our aim is to be disciples of Jesus so we can make disciples of Jesus!

REVELATION
1) To love God (UP) ↑
It’s all about God! It starts with Him and without Him we can do nothing! To love and worship God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength we need Jesus! To obey the greatest commandment we rely totally on Jesus.
‘For no-one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ’ (1 Cor 3:11)

Jesus said, ‘If a person remains in Me and I in them, they will produce much fruit;
apart from Me you can do nothing’ (John 15:5)

And He said, ‘I will build my church’ (Matt 16:18)
Jesus will build His church – we have been chosen by Him to be part of His church!
‘Like living-stones, we are being built into a spiritual house to be holy…’ (1 Pet 2:4-5)

‘Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labour in vain’ (Psalm 127:1)
To love God – we love Jesus Christ (God as man) – and partner with Him in His plans and purposes on earth – building His church – extending His Kingdom!

We demonstrate our love to God by totally relying on Jesus to build His church and build up His people. God is the One who gives revelation, wisdom and understanding. In Him and Him alone are we built up!

DISCIPLESHIP
2) To love the church (IN) ↓
To love and serve the people of God we need to keep Jesus at the centre and raise Him up for all to see (John 12:32). As believers we live in community and only in Jesus can we remain in unity for His love to be shown to the world (John 17:23). In Jesus we can have sincere, real & loving friendships that the world longs for (John 15:9-12).
We are called to raise up a standard, a banner, to all people – for all nations!
The prophet Isaiah said, ‘Prepare the way for the people. Build up, build up the highway!
Remove the stones. Raise a banner for the nations’ (Isa 62:10)

‘Now is the time of God’s favour, now is the day of salvation!’ (2 Cor 6:2)
Now is the time to rise up! The church is not to be timid and weak but needs to be a generation of disciples that will rise up and be all that God wants them to be in this day! (2 Tim 1:6-7) We are normal, ordinary people made supernatural and extraordinary in Jesus Christ and in the power of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:17-18) to do what Jesus did (John 14:12). The prophet Zechariah said, ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit’ (Zech 4:6).
VALUES#2 - TO RAISE HIS PEOPLE
We demonstrate our love to the people of God by raising up a generation that don’t just talk about Jesus, but know Him, love Him and do what He did!
We value:

CHILDREN & YOUNG PEOPLE – next generation disciples, loved, supported, involved, taught, raised up – the church today, the church tomorrow

COMMUNITY & FRIENDSHIP – sharing life, living life and enjoying life together with sincere, real and loving friendships – encouraging & raising one another up

FAMILY & MARRIAGE – encourage, serve, care, uphold, honour and celebrate family life, marriage and children – raising up a church family together

SPIRIT-FILLED LIFE – we need the Holy Spirit to raise up God’s people – men & women (next leaders, pastors, teachers, evangelists, musicians etc; Eph 4:11-12) to grow in spiritual fruit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness etc; Gal 5:22-23) and to excel in spiritual gifts (prophecy, wisdom, healing, miracles, etc; 1 Cor 12 & 14:12). We need Spirit-filled, Spirit-enabled, mature, growing disciples – moving forward, stepping up and fulfilling their full potential in Christ (in His Church) to raise up a standard and transform the world!

THE GREAT COMMISSION
3) To love others (OUT) ↔
To love others and reach out to all people with God’s love, we need the love and compassion of Jesus in our hearts. To obey the second part of the greatest commandment, again, we rely totally on Jesus. We go because Jesus tells us to go (John 17:18). We go in His authority, power and love to serve the last, the least and the lost (Matt 25:34-40) and to be His witnesses in the world (Acts 1:8).
Jesus said, ‘Go and make disciples of all nations…’ (Matt 28:19)

‘Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation’ (Mark 16:15)
​
‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters
of mine, you did for Me’ (Matt 25:40)

‘It is more blessed to give than receive’ (Acts 20:35)
We are the light in the world! Jesus said, ‘You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before all people, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven’ (Matt 5:14-16)
‘Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead’ (James 2:14-17)

‘We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works…’ (Eph 2:10)

We demonstrate our love to others by going to all people with the gracious and merciful love of Jesus and by putting our faith in action.
