Pastor Steve Ovens
 

Steve was born in Trowbridge, Wiltshire and moved to Cornwall in 2000 after completing his PGCE at Exeter. He spent 12 years teaching and playing semi-professional football (Tiverton Town, St Blazey and Bodmin Town) whilst serving in ministry at Soul’s Harbour, Camelford, as the Assistant Pastor and Youth Leader. Over the years, Steve has also been involved in several short-term missions in the UK (with SJi & TFM) and overseas (with teams from OM, CIS/ CIF, PEF and Soul’s Harbour).

In 2012, Steve was clearly led by God to hang up his football boots and leave teaching to become pastor at New Life Church in Bodmin. He has a passion to see men and women of every generation be transformed by the Good News of Jesus Christ and to be all that God has created them to be.
 

In his spare time, Steve loves to ride on the local downhill mountain bike trails, eat a good curry and spend time with his wife and two children. He is also really competitive- according to him there’s no such thing as a ‘fun run!’
